With Air France and KLM
The commitment to make aviation more sustainable
The Gattinoni Group joins the SAF Corporate program of Air France and KLM to actively contribute to accelerating the use and production of sustainable aviation fuel and significantly reduce Co2 emissions in the short to medium term. A choice in line with the Group’s commitment to sustainability.
The Air France and KLM project
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is the main tool available to airlines to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the short to medium term and reduce environmental impact, but it is not yet available on a large scale . Today, in fact, less than 0.1% of the approximately 300 million tons of fuel used by airlines is SAF. To accelerate its use and production, Air France and KLM have launched the SAF Corporate program. By entering the program, partner companies support the transition from fossil fuel to SAF and can reduce the impact of business travel by at least 75%.
What is SAF
Sustainable aviation fuel:
- it is produced from renewable sources such as used cooking oil and agricultural residues
- reduces CO2 emissions at the source by at least 75%
- it is a so-called drop-in fuel, it mixes perfectly with fossil fuel
- it has a cleaner production process and contributes to a circular economy
