In Gattinoni Group’s vision, attention to people takes on many nuances and is also expressed in its commitment and solidarity towards the most fragile populations, through economic support for various social projects. Since 2005, the Group has been involved through the association Un Mondo di Amici Onlus in projects aimed at improving the social and health conditions of people in Uganda, a country tormented by long internal conflicts.
Un Mondo di Amici Onlus operates directly on the ground in Uganda, developing activities that aim to make medical care available and accessible to children and the most vulnerable segments of the population.
After collecting donations for five years for the Benedict Medical Center, a reference point located on the outskirts of Kampala which provides medical care for 1,200 children, the first project supported exclusively with funds from the non-profit organization saw the light in 2011: the Paicho Medical Center in Gulu, one of the poorest and most tormented areas by the civil war.
Inaugurated in 2016, this center includes a pharmacy, analysis laboratory, day hospital, a women’s ward and a men’s ward, drug store, kitchen for the patients’ relatives and flats for the hospital staff, and will be constantly supported in its expansion over time.
